Juggalo Family Rant (3 of 3)

One last thing. You rookie juggalos aren't exactly off the hook. Just know that ninjas who front like they know everything are douche bags. Ninjas who incessantly brag about shit are douche bags. Ninjas who don't act right and pass the buck in the name of juggalos are douche bags. Juggalo family is not a get out of jail free card for douche-baggery. Most of us don't care what other people think of us, but if you don't care what a veteran juggalo thinks of you, just make sure you're not full of shit. Try not to let your ego prevent you from learning something from somebody who's been around longer than you. You might actually find yourself accepted by the older generation if you show a little respect. No matter what, just do you, cuz its hard to restore your credibility once you're lost it.

Dropping the hatchet because you don’t like how other juggalos act means that you care more about your image than your connection to the music. That's lame.

Maybe that's the problem. There is an established "family" to speak of now, and people see that and are attracted to the family environment/scene before they even know what it is about the music that inspired the scene to begin with.

There's nothing wrong with a newbie buying a CD and some Hatchet Gear, but its clear that a lot of ninjas are hesitant to accept people into the family unless they've ran through the gauntlet first, when that's all they want..... to be accepted.

I use the term "veteran" to describe a juggalo who has been down with the clown for a long time. Somebody who followed ICP and the Dark Carnival before The Unveiling, or before the Milenko/Disney fiasco, or whatever.. (OG Juggalos) Don't let the terms bog down the issue. The issue is some ninjas feel like they have seniority over others and some ninjas clearly need to slow their roll. But neither side wants to be regulated.
